What is MIHE (D.Ed)?

MIHE runs diploma courses of education specialized in Mental Retardation under the affiliation of RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) The D.Ed. Special. Ed. (MR) course aims to develop professionals for special education within a broad framework of education in the current millennium. The course will enable learners to acquire knowledge, develop competencies and practice skills to impart education to children with mental retardation.

Why is MIHE (D.Ed)?

MIHE (D.Ed) provides training of rehabilitation professionals.

Objectives:-

  • To build adequate knowledge
  • Various aspects of disability, its impact and management
  • Key aspects of education like goals, function, technology and emerging trends
  • Educational needs of the children with disability and their management
  • Details of planning and executing curricular and co-curricular activities
  • Methods and techniques of teaching school subjects
  • Various areas of child development and the relevant mental processes
  • To be able to see the above mentioned aspects in the light of Indian context
  • To develop skills and competencies:
  • Personal, professional and social competencies and skills required in teachers
  • Subject teaching as per requirement
  • Development and adaptation of instructional materials
  • Evaluation of the students, teacher and the educational programme
  • Planning and executing lessons (individualized and group)
  • Classroom management techniques
  • Individual and group parent interaction
  • To develop desirable attitudes:
  • Role and need of education in the modern world
  • Teaching profession and role of teachers in changing society
  • Guiding children and solving their academic/behavior problems

Recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department for Empowerment of People with Disabilities

Who can join MIHE (D.Ed.)?

Students who:

  • Passed 12th class with minimum 50% marks and who pass in AIOAT -2019 

Duration of the Course:

 The duration of the course will be two years (four semesters)

Eligibility:

Students who have passed 10+2 or equivalent with 50% of marks in any stream and who pass in AIOAT -2019 are eligible for the course.

(AIOAT - 2019 is compulsory)

Medium of Instruction:

 The medium of instruction will be English / Hindi / Regional language
