The play highlighted four different states of India: Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Assam.<\/p>\n<p>For Kashmir, the trainees talked about traditional items like the kangri (a traditional heating device), kahwa (a type of tea), pashmina shawls, and the famous Dal Lake. They also performed a traditional Kashmiri dance, dressed in beautifully designed costumes.<\/p>\n<p>Next, they presented Tamil Nadu, discussing festivals like Pongal, the classical Bharatanatyam dance, and the importance of agriculture in the state.<\/p>\n<p>In the part about Gujarat, the trainees introduced popular foods like jalebi and fafda, showcased the garba dance, talked about the traditional chaniya choli attire, and mentioned the local language.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, they portrayed Assam, known for Assam silk, the Bihu dance, and its traditional occupations.<\/p>\n<p>The entire play was excellently scripted by Sahil Abbas, and each trainee played their role wonderfully.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On October 26, 2024 in Diwali Mela, the trainees of the Diploma in Special Education presented a play celebrating India&#8217;s diversity.
