Manolaya — manolaya, a resting place for the mind — began in 2004 as a parent-managed cooperative and has grown into a specialised residential home run by Manovikas Charitable Society. For residents, many of whom are orphaned or come from families unable to provide safe care, Manolaya is not a facility — it is their only stable home.
We are moving from a shelter model to a rights-based community living model: residents are supported to make choices, take part in daily life, and connect with the wider Manovikas ecosystem — day care, self-advocacy groups, and now vocational work. We are advocates of each person's autonomy, rights and dignity.
Manolaya sits within Manovikas's School of Social-Emotional & Spiritual Wellbeing (SSES), and its work is aligned with the RPwD Act 2016 and the Sustainable Development Goals (3, 10 and 16).

Day and night caregivers, a cook and a coordinator in a home-like environment.

The Manolaya Bakery — skills, work and self-worth.
With support from our CSR partner, we are establishing a small vocational bakery unit designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Residents learn hands-on baking, take part in structured work, and produce items for sale — a real step toward independence and contributing towards their own care.
Products reach the market through the Manovikas network — YumRise for skilling & livelihood, and Love Arts for restaurants, community events and online sales.

CSR partnership
Companies can fund Manolaya as CSR under Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013. We provide utilisation reporting, impact metrics against the KPI framework, and full 80G / CSR documentation.
