Meet Kaka,

a 17-year-old athlete who participated in the South Asia Cup, a 7-a-side Unified Football Competition of Special Olympics held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 16-20 April 2024. Wearing Jersey number 5, Kaka played a vital role in his team's success as a valuable defensive player. Despite having an intellectual disability, Kaka was enthusiastic and determined to represent India.

Kaka is studying 10th grade at Manovikas School for Inclusion and living in Manolyala Home. He came to Manovikas ten years ago after living in a church with his father for bread and shelter.

Kaka had a difficult childhood as he grew up with an intellectual disability, and his mother had a mental illness. His father worked as a street vendor to support the family

However, Kaka's life changed when he was welcomed into Manovikas. This institution has been supported by the Home of Hope Inc. USA since 2000.

Kaka is standing with Dr Nilima Sabharwal and Dr Umesh Sabharwal, Founders of HOH, Inc.

Manovikas Family provides safety, stability, and opportunities to excel in sports for around 200 students like Kaka with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through Manovikas, Kaka has had a chance to participate in state-level football, athletics, and bocce competitions.
