About Manovikas Charitable Society

Manovikas Charitable Society is a pioneering organisation dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD). Our Think College Awareness Programme is designed to promote access to higher education for persons with disabilities by networking with universities, colleges, and other stakeholders to foster inclusivity in education.

Role Overview

We seek a dynamic and passionate Programme Manager to lead and expand the Think College Awareness Programme. The ideal candidate will be responsible for networking with educational institutions, advocating for inclusive higher education, and driving initiatives to create awareness and opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Programme Management:
    • Planned, implemented and managed the Think College Awareness Programme activities.
    • Develop strategic plans to expand awareness and participation among universities and colleges.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of program initiatives.
  2. Networking and Collaboration:
    • Build and maintain relationships with universities, colleges, and education stakeholders.
    • Promote inclusive higher education policies and practices.
    • Organise meetings, workshops, and seminars to engage educational institutions.
  3. Advocacy and Awareness:
    • Advocate for the inclusion of persons with disabilities (ASD, SLD, IDD) in higher education.
    • Develop and disseminate informational materials to promote the programme.
    • Represent Manovikas in events, forums, and conferences on higher education and disability inclusion.
  4. Resource Development:
    • Identify and secure funding opportunities to support the programme.
    • Prepare proposals, reports, and documentation for donors and stakeholders.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and guide program staff and volunteers.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity within the team.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in Education, Social Work, Disability Studies, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, advocacy, or education-related roles.
    • Prior experience working in disability inclusion or higher education is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
    • Strong project management and organisational skills.
    • Proficiency in creating reports, presentations, and proposals.
    • Exceptional communication and advocacy skills.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with higher education systems and disability inclusion policies.
