Dr. Kutty served as Professor and Head of the Department of Special Education and has been a faculty member at prestigious institutions such as the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID) and the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute. Throughout her career, she authored over 20 books and published hundreds of research papers, making substantial contributions to the field.

Despite her retirement, she extends her services to organisations like Asha Nilayam Special School and Ashwas Farm School for persons with intellectual disabilities and women with mental health disorders at Nalla Samarayan Ashram.
